About
Diggies

In 2004, Diggies and North Beach Kiosk popped up at Wollongong’s North Beach following a painstaking restoration of the iconic 1930s Art Deco Kiosk by the local Crinis family.

Serving fresh food and great coffee with coastal vibes, Diggies and the Kiosk quickly became a favourite for local families, the active North Beach community, and committed fans of brunch.

Original Co-founder, Stan Crinis, is amazingly proud of Diggies for serving top-quality, local produce. Passionate about health, fitness, and our beautiful beach, Diggies is proud to support and nourish the Illawarra Community.

Diggies has just opened a second venue boasting stunning coastal views, located close to the iconic Kiama Blowhole.

Check out more about our Kiama venue in featured articles on  Broadsheet  and  Good Food.

“Diggies has always reflected the best of the Illawarra - fresh food and beach vibes delivered with a smile”

Stan Crinis
Founder, GM & Creative Director
Stan Crinis

After spending his youth in the water and on the sand at North Beach, Stan established Diggies in 2004 with his family - well-known for selling fresh fruit and veg in Wollongong for over 40 years.

He entered hospitality after a successful career as a creative specializing in branding for design agencies like Moon and M&C Saatchi. His personal experience in creating experiences via design combined with the family history in fresh produce and Diggies was born.

Stan and his brother Aaron’s hope was to create a hub for North’s active, creative and inspiring beach community. From the beginning, the vision for Diggies was that it distilled the essence of beach living – relaxed, breezy, sun-filled and friendly.

In 2012 he co-founded Dagwood Bar + Kitchen, giving it a playful and irreverent brand identity that has become a fixture on the Gong food scene. And most recently, he opened the second Diggies venue in Kiama next to the iconic Blowhole.

Stan’s deep love of Wollongong somehow doesn’t extend to the NRL where he barracks for the perennially cheating Balmain Tigers.

‘Morgs’ grew up in another beloved Illawarra restaurant – Ruby’s – carrying plates as soon as she could walk. Following a successful Marketing career working with retail brands like Westfield, she returned to Wollongong to join husband Stan in running the marketing and events for Diggies.

Morgan is a passionate foodie whose greatest professional pleasure is throwing a successful event. She’s also the committed Mum to three of Diggies’ most loyal little ones – Edison, Jemima and Vivienne, and is subsequently a huge coffee fan.
